Pay Range
$125,160 – $155,400 Annually
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
We have an opening for a Business Analyst to develop and implement business and technical strategies to support programs within the Academic Engagement and Science Education office. You will be responsible for gathering requirements and developing/maintaining processes to facilitate data system development, integration, and maintenance for program management teams. You will be contributing to all phases of the programs. This position is in the Academic Engagement Office (AEO) within the Deputy Director’s Office, Science and Technology.
You will
- Plan, conduct, and direct the analysis and implementation of complex business processes for the Academic Engagement and Science Education programs.
- Develop and deliver formal proposals for the implementation of operational changes to improve information and processing systems and create innovative tools to manage programs efficiently. Serve as the primary contact for management for critical change initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies for addressing process gaps – monitor the progress and impact of changes by working as a liaison between client and technical staff.
- Prepare project plans including task estimation; facilitate and interact with internal resources to complete project activities.
- Create comprehensive statistical models on goals, metrics, and roles in the business process.
- Make decisions related to schedule, cost, or multi-functional process implementation, including managing contracts and ensuring compliance of processes and programs.
- Perform analysis tasks requiring an in-depth understanding of the end-to-end process without appreciable direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience managing multiple, integrated projects and leading business transformation activities using project management methodologies, practices, techniques, and tools.
- Broad and extensive specialized and operational knowledge and experience applying industry practices and standards.
- Experience designing and implementing process improvements, workflow, and streamlining to reduce duplication.
- Experience developing integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decisions.
- Experience anticipating needs, making recommendations, delegating effectively, and working issues across all levels.
- Experience as a team leader, setting technical and business direction and requirements for others as well as the ability to work independently, acting on own initiative, and work as a member of a project team.

- Knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory’s policies and procedures.
- Understanding database management and process flow coordination.
- Experience developing standard operating protocols for internal processes.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.
