Pay Range
$104,370 – $135,192 Annually for the E01.3 level
$125,160 – $162,120 Annually for the E01.4 level
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
We have an opening for an experienced Business Analyst supporting the Small Business Program Office within the Supply Chain Management Department. This position will analyze, plan, and develop solutions pertaining to business improvement initiatives to meet user requirements and engage with internal and external stakeholders supporting LLNS’ Small Business Program Office activities. You will cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, scientific programs, and the information technology team. Areas of focus may include process efficiencies for management of procurements and the small business program. This position is in Operations, Policy, and Oversight Division and reports to the Policy Manager.
This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
In this role you will
- Independently partner with customers, stakeholders, and technical staff within a matrix environment to analyze requirements and drive solutions that will help influence business case decisions.
- Conduct cross-organizational meetings with project and service owners to identify process gaps and action potential improvement opportunities.
- Provides in-depth consultation to client and technical staff to identify and evaluate standards and procedures to improve overall process efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members, utilizing negotiation skills to influence outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and leads to effectively meet the goals and schedule of their area of responsibility.
- Prepare customized data reports, business requirements documents, and data visualizations to facilitate decision making.
- Assume lead role in implementation of project tasks and provide updates and briefings on benefits of identified solutions.
- Plan large efforts requiring collaboration with multiple disciplines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job responsibilities, at the E01.4 level
- Independently plan, conduct, and direct the analysis and design of complex business processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for addressing process improvement initiatives that impact major mission areas.
- Plans large and complex solutions requiring collaboration of multiple disciplines and management teams.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant functional discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience in a business operations role with an emphasis on process optimization.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with workflows related to processing technical data.
- Advanced experience applying analytical skills to compile, interpret, and present data leveraging data analytic/visualization tools to query data and produce technical reports.
- Proficient experience using Microsoft Power Automate or similar automation tools to create workflows.
- Experience applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop practical solutions.
- Experience interacting with cross-disciplinary teams to design, develop and improve data analytics and business processes.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with others, as well as work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment, multi-tasking and adjusting to changing priorities and responsibilities.
Additional qualifications at the E01.4 level
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams utilizing project management methodologies.
- Experience designing and implementing improvements for functional business discipline in the areas of process improvement, workflow, and streamlining to reduce duplication.
- Experience interacting with technical development teams to define requirements for system integrations.
