Job Description

  • Coordinate employee leaves of absences in partnership with third party administrator by providing employee guidance, communication, and updating systems as needed
    • Effectively interprets FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PFL, and PDL implications
  • Administer worker’s compensation in partnership with third party administrator, works closely with adjusters to ensure injuries move along the process in a smooth manner
    • Ensure CA covid reporting compliance
    • Ensure corrective measures for safety if needed
  • Responsible for carrier billing submission and accuracy of payment
  • Ensure accuracy of benefits enrollment and data by performing quality checks and correcting data files as needed
  • Provide excellent customer support to all Skechers employees by demonstrating expert field knowledge and providing creative solutions
    • Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues, plan changes, and qualifying events
    • Provide employees with benefit and work comp documents as required
    • Assists employees to resolve disputes or complaints by explaining benefits programs to employees and working closely with insurance broker/carrier to resolve the complaint
  • Oversee employee terminations within needed systems and partner with payroll to ensure final check contains benefits deductions as needed
  • Develop and maintain basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines regarding our offered benefits plans and all Skechers benefits content, including both web and print materials
  • Responsible for overseeing departmental mail and scanning documents to virtual folders and benefit team members as needed
  • Will assist the benefits department team to complete a variety of projects and will serve as a thinking partner
  • Ensure departmental compliance related to the changing state and federal laws

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Will assist department with special projects such as:
    • Open Enrollment
    • Annual Health Fair
    • Wellness Programs
    • Safety Program
    • As assigned

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Must have strong working knowledge in both state and federal leave laws, as well as knowledge of ADA compliance and accommodations. Must understand FMLA, CFRA, USERRA, PFL, PDL (where applicable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities and produce high quality work in a fast pace setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to accept other duties as assigned with the changing nature of work
  • Must be adaptive and flexible with work scope due to departmental growth and changes per leadership
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to contribute to the success and dynamic of the HR Benefits Team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in HR Benefits
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent, but experience and/or other training/ certification may be substituted for education
  • HR Certification is a plus

Pay range for this position is $70,000 – $82,500 annually.
