Automotive Project Manager (PST)

Summary: Responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within scope and budget, while proactively communicating with senior management, project team members, and the client to meet customer and company expectations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned by Management.
Project Management
- Develops and manages a set scope of work within one or more projects through setting effective expectations, communication, change management control, budget control and management, issue escalation and resolution, and overall business understanding of the project needs
- Manages content development process, tool implementation, and program delivery
- Effectively manages multiple tasks simultaneously
- Develops, actively supports, and communicates detailed project plans and schedules
- Resolves resourcing constraints or conflicts
- Escalates visibility to issues; offers solutions and drives issues to resolution
- Oversees budget, project spend, forecasting, client invoicing, and other financials
- Maintains project data in resourcing, financial, and data management systems as required
- Maintains routine communications (written and verbal) with senior management and the client concerning all aspects of the project
Team Management
- Establishes rapport with assigned project team(s) and key stakeholders
- Aligns internal service delivery schedules and processes to deliver on client’s vision
- Interfaces with project team members and vendors, often dispersed geographically
- Provides direction to assigned project team members and collaborates with peers and leadership to prioritize competing commitments among shared resources
Client Management
- Establishes rapport and maintains collaborative relationships on projects with primary client contacts and key stakeholders
- Attends onsite meetings at client location when possible
- Works in partnership with vendors as needed to meet client needs
- Supports business development (discovery, estimates, presentation) efforts as required
- Collects feedback and data; implements continuous improvement
Required Skills and Desired Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Individuals with commensurate work experience will be considered in the absence of a degree.
- Five or more years’ experience managing projects, including monitoring project scope and budget, creating project schedules, managing project resources, resolving issues, and reporting status
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Organization
- Ability to learn new technology and understand how to integrate tools into workflow
- Familiarity/experience with Learning & Development projects (instructional design, adult learning, and/or content development in WBT, ILT, VILT formats)
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under aggressive deadlines
- Ability to respond to constant change and remain flexible
- Relationship development and management
- Conflict resolution, adaptability/flexibility, and dealing with ambiguity
- Detail orientated
- Strong work ethic
- Positive, enthusiastic, “can do” attitude
- Initiative and problem-solving ability
Assets
- PMP Certification or equivalent training
General Physical Requirements
- Light Work: Involves sitting most of the time. May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Reaching, sitting, driving, standing, stooping, lifting, walking, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitor, and read.
- Requires visual acuity to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a classroom or other client setting.
- Visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
- Both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary $100k – $110k annually determined by function, education, experience and qualification of the applicant.
• This position includes a competitive benefits package, including health, dental and vision, paid leave and holidays, and 401K contributions.
