DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Recreation Center Coordinator to join our Parks, Trails & Recreation department!
Hourly Hiring range: $24.51 – $28.80
Position range: $ 24.51 – $33.08
$1,000 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking for a professional that will be responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Center. The Recreation Center Coordinator will work within the Recreation Center team by assisting with the organization, promotion, and coordination of the recreation center, recreational activities, events, classes and programs; will also assist in budget preparation, hiring and supervision of the Recreation Center assigned staff.
Some of other duties are performed are:
- Assists the Recreation Center Manager with the coordination of and day to day operations
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Center in the absence of the Recreation Center Manager.
- Greets and receives the public; sells memberships and processes paperwork; receives payments and fees and admits patrons; operates cash register and accounts for revenues; gives change, works with computer software.
- Oversees and operates the POS system to reconcile daily deposits, audits user credit and past due balances monthly.
- Operates concession stand; sells various products including food items, swim wear and equipment.
- Performs scheduled upkeep and maintenance of facility;
- Advertises, reserves, and manages birthday party rentals; performs the initial set up and final take down of the event;
- Plans, establishes, and organizes facility rentals,ensuring independent users, private groups and recreation programs are cohesively scheduled.
- Assists with general communication, marketing, and promotion of Department news, programs and upcoming events.
- Serves as an American Red Cross Lifeguard when required
- Oversees evening and weekend programs and facility activities, opens and closes facility as directed.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Ability to use a personal computer and various software to develop reports, spreadsheets, registrations, rental software, flyers, posters, news releases, brochures, and managing of databases.
- Ability to work independently, provide leadership and creative insight.
- Ability to use various pool and maintenance equipment
- A bachelor’s degree in the field of recreation, recreation management, or related human services field and a minimum of two years’ experience coordinating or assisting in the facilitation of a recreation center; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced swimming skills.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certified or ability to obtain
- Red Cross First aid and CPR/PR certified or ability to obtain
