Android/iOS Mobile Developer – Commercial Software

In this role you will take your mobile dev skills and apply them to build applications that support indoor mapping, positioning, navigation, workspace reservation, data collection, and more. Responsibilities

  • Develop native mobile applications (iOS and Android) and feature for indoor mapping, positioning, navigation, location sharing, workspace reservation, data collection, and more
  • Build cutting edge, intuitive, responsive user experiences that run on mobile phone and tablet form factors
  • Support the development of native mobile SDKs
  • Work in a scrum software development process and participate in user story design, estimation, and execution
  • Design relational, spatial, and NoSQL information models
  • Understand SDKs to architect software that compliments and extend the ArcGIS ecosystem
  • Implement unit tests to automate regression tests for the code you author
  • Work with product engineers to support their understanding of how to effectively test your code
  • Perform peer code reviews to help ensure a cohesive codebase
  • Update code to reflect the feedback of peers resulting from core reviews on your code
  • Fix software defects as found by product engineers
  • Collaborate with other teams within the company that build components and APIs

Requirements

  • 2+ years professional experience supporting commercial software development
  • Demonstrated experience in Android and/or iOS software development
  • Excellent knowledge of Java and Kotlin and/or Swift and Objective-C
  • Experience consuming REST services and strong knowledge of JSON
  • Experience with RDBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), Spatial databases, NoSQL databases, and embedded databases (SQLite)
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team that builds quality commercial software applications
  • Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Working knowledge of data structures and algorithm analysis fundamentals
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience developing an application on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or an open-source project
  • Experience architecting and designing software products
  • Experience with daily Git workflows (branches, review, merge)
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS software or similar geospatial technology
  • Experience with RDBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), spatial databases, NoSQL databases, and embedded databases (SQLite)
  • Experience with Augmented Reality and related mobile SDKs
  • Experience with 2D and 3D graphics programming
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $93,600.00 – $156,000.00.
